Terms of use

The service

SoundTestLab provides free, browser-based audio testing tools. The tools produce estimates measured with consumer hardware in uncontrolled environments — they are diagnostic aids, not certified instruments.

Not medical advice

The hearing-related tools (hearing age test, frequency tests, tone generator) are for entertainment and general awareness. They are not medical devices, do not diagnose hearing loss or any condition, and are no substitute for examination by an audiologist or physician. If you have concerns about your hearing, seek professional care.

Hearing safety

You control your playback volume. Test tones — especially high frequencies and non-sine waveforms — can be loud and fatiguing; start low. We are not liable for damage caused by playback at excessive volume.

Acceptable use

Don't scrape abusively, misrepresent report links as certifications, or use the tools where a certified measurement is legally required (occupational noise compliance, legal disputes).

Warranty & liability

The service is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for damages arising from use of the service. Readings can be wrong: hardware, browsers and rooms vary.

Changes

We may update these terms; the date above reflects the current version.
